Hard to isolate/identify devices connect

I have been digging around trying to find out how to isolate or identify who is/was online, (for accountability reasons). In my logs everything looks like it points to a single ip which is the router ithe devices are connected to. Is it possible to show the user connected with the ip used and the MAC address.
What I want is a way to search for an identity based on a mac address should someone say that someone on my network is doing something wrong and here is there IP and mac address.
