Adjusting window sizes?

In areas like "Current HDCP Leases" I only have like 5.5 lines of the table that are visible to me. Is there a way to adjust these windows/frames so I can see more items simultaneously?

Remote administration & Quarantine and filter questions

Hi,

Running Untangle 10.1 - was wondering if it was possible to only have the /quarantine/ available to WAN users, not /webui/ ? From looking through the forums in older versions this was not possible but I couldn't find a definitive answer for the latest release? If not possible through the Untangle front end is it possible to edit the Apache config files to achieve this?

I'm running on a custom port (8443) as I need 443 for OWA.

Secondly, to enable access to Quarantine for remote users I need to go to Config --> Network --> Advanced --> Filter Rules I enabled "Allow HTTPS on WANs". A lot of the forum posts are extremely explicit in saying that you should not, repeat not, on pain of something extremely terrible, edit this rule. So I didn't! I just peeked at it. Everything is working as it should yet the port number still says 443, not 8443.

Is this the GUI just not picking up the custom port or is this something that I should look closer at as it should carry over?

Many thanks in advance

Untangle Delays in Emails being sent outbound

$

I'm having an issue that seems to be odd. I cannot send emails without delays
I had 9x installed on an untangle box and had no issues at all with it. I have exchange 2010 on the inside of my network and was having no issues with sending emails outside of our network.
I installed 10.1 and within 10 hours I was getting delays in sending emails outside of the network. I unplugged the untangle box and voila everything sent. Along with this it strips off attachments, as outside recipients are not getting attachments when the email arrives. I removed the untangle box and installed a new(er) PC even though the status during installation said that the processor was Great and Memory was Great on the original 10.1 box.I decided maybe the issue was that box. After installing the second box ( i5 box with 4 GB of memory). Within 10 hours I was in the same boat.
The current setup of the untangle is identical to the 9x box, Bridged mode and attaching directly to my firewall. I am not scanning outgoing emails within the configuration I have spam filter light, Antivirus light, Phish blocker and reports. I have webfilter light and Application control light turned off but installed
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Force update to 10.2

Is there any way to force through the update from 10.1 to 10.2 on a box? I'd like to try out the new L2TP vpn, but don't want to do a full reinstall with the downtime associated (or work overnight/weekend to do it)

Been using 10.0 since september 2013. Not working after 9 months of perfect operation. Reboot gave a error 16 inconsistent file structure. A little research suggested best to reinstall. From a USB it boots into graphical interface but after many lines of debian mostly stopping at "ata1: softreset failed (device not ready)" after "failed command READ FPDMA QUEUED". My next move is to replace HDD?!

ESXi 5.1.0 1483097 + Untangle 10.0 x64 ova : cannot connect over LAN

Hi,

This has been puzzling me for the last 3 days, so I decided to hear with the master(s) ...

I have Untangle 9.x on ESX 4.1.0, and am setting up a new ESXi 5.1 server with a fresh Untangle 10.0 install. I downloaded the 10.0 ova file from untangle.com. Deployed from ova. Before booting up Untangle I created 2 new vSwitches. So now I have vNetwork 1 + 2 + 3. vSwitch0 is the main (and only physical ethernet card), and is for Untangled the external nic. Then I have vSwitch1 on nic2 (internal), and vSwitch2 on nic3 (DMZ ??... never used it in Untangle 9.x).

Install went well, all from within the vSphere client. Booted, followed the wizard, then did the required updates. All looks OK, but when I want to logon from my browser, the returned error is "can not connect to 192.168.11.220" (which is the IP I used for the external card). All other VMs are accessible.

Connectivity test is working, all OK. In Config>network>Interfaces> I have externa, internal + interface gamma, all connected, all green, dev eth0 + 1 + 2. Current address is 192.168.11.220/24, WAN is TRUE. BTW I used bridged mode for the setup because I have my main ISP-router/modem with DHCP server. The idea is to have xx.11.220 as external, then (once I get LAN access working) configure eth1 as 192.168.20.1 so all configured VMs behing Untangle will have x.20.2 and up.

In Config>network>administration>admin> I allowed HTTP administration
In Config>network>administration>public address> Use IP address from external interface

Can anybody give me a hint on what is going on? Many many thanks in advance.

Password problem

I installed the latest version of Untangle on a PC, set it up using admin/admin as the username and password. It has been running for a few weeks and I have been able to log in from different workstations without a problem. However, after it was shut down and then restarted, a command line says:

Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 untangle tty1

untangle login:
(followed by) Password:

I have tried admin/admin but it does not accept it and I have tried all sorts of possibilities but no luck. I do not recall being asked to set up any other login during setup. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Connectivity lost & can't connect to cmd.untangle.com

Good morning!

I'm putting this here because I don't really know where it should go.

This morning I came to work to all our users reporting loss of internet connectivity. Sure enough when I checked that did appear to be the case.

We use our untangle (10.2) box in transparent bridge mode. After some investigation I was able to determine that Untangle was the problem. I was able to ping our Sonicwall (the other side of untangle) but not access it's web interface. I connected directly to sonicwall (bypassing Untangle) and bingo! I was able to browse the web and access Sonicwall's web interface.

It looks like Untangle was blocking all web traffic for everything except what I had added bypass rules for, our e-mail system for example, was still accessible through Untangle because it has a bypass rule set up.

Long story short, I rebooted untangle and everything came back to life. The problem now is I see the "yellow ! triangle" reporting that it can't communicate with cmd.untangle.com.

What I want to do is determine what caused this problem and prevent it from happening again.

Any input on this would be appreciated. I do have a support call in with Untangle but thought I'd post here too.

Cheers.

Hi,

I have one server that contains DNS and Web server. if i take a domain from my registrar and i use their DNS hosting and add an A , cname or whatever records that points to my weberserver/DNS it works perfectly fine. However , if i use my own nameservers it doesn't work. If i ping a pointed record from my Registrar i get the good ip address replied back. But if i ping the other domains that has my nameserver registered i get the non routable ip 192.168.0.12 instead of getting the public ip.

I lost 2 days of work on this. Before giving up i desperately need help if someone can help me out please.

Best Regards,

Eric

Just an FYI:

When attempting to download an ISO of 10.2 today, I found Google Chrome Version 35.0.1916.114 blocking the download due to an "Unsafe Script". Loading the script worked fine.

This is a vanilla copy of chrome, running on Ubuntu 14.04.

Hey guys I have a question. I'm attempting to build Untangle from source using the package method and whenever I run "debuild -us -uc" a warning comes up.
It's important to note that I cloned the master from gitorious. I also installed my system using the 10.2 x64 ISO.

Spam quarantine problems

I have UTNGF setup in bridged config. Router has port forward for 843 pointed to UT machine. Port 843 is set in services tab for https. Port 843 has been added to a filter rule for internal and external allow. Admin, Public address has been set to external static address port 843. People outside of the network can access quarantines, people inside the network can not reach their quarantine. This has only been a problem since I upgraded to 10 (clean install), I can't figure out what setting I messed up.

Shuttle DS437 Issue

Morning everyone

I have just purchase a Shuttle DS437 to be our replacement firewall.

The installation of Untangle 10.2 went without issue and during the installation (I have tried both 32 and 64 bit) all of the hardware was detected and seen as being in order.

During the network configuration stage the internal NICs (Realtek RTL8111/8168B) where seen and it was possible to configure both and them and during the testing of them both of them showed a green light when the network cable was connected.

The issue to date is even though the network is showing as green when the cable is in and connected to either the switch or my modem I cannot get any network connection (connectivity test, ping internal and external, dns etc).

I have logged into the console and the devices are there when running the lspci command.

Does anyone have any suggestions has to how to fix this problem

thanks

Gigabit Internet capability

We have tried with 9.4 and with 10 to hook our Untangle up to our Gigabit fiber Internet but at max get about 700mb. With a direct laptop bypassing UT we get 990mb but behind either UT version we get an average of 600mb and tried everything to get the full pipe we are paying for but haven't had luck with support.

Is ANYONE out there running gigabit via their ISP that can provide insight?

Multple Subnets

I have untangle set in bridge mode. My gateway is 10.3.136.1 which is the router. My main subnet is 10.3.136.x and I have other subnets routed to the internal. These are the 10.3.137.x 10.3.138.x and 10.3.139.x

I am unable to get network access when I put untangle in line. Cannot ping the dns servers from one of the dhcp address in the above.

Any ideas?

Expected behaviour using 10 users license with 12 real users.

Hi, a customer wants to use Untangle NG FW to protect his small office network. He's okay to pay US $1.260 per 3 years (1-10 users); his network has 12 users, but the next user band (11-50) is very steep for him ($2.520). So he asked me: What could happen if he bought a 1-10 users license and there are 12 users?

PD: For bigger companies, >30 users, $2.520 is a nice price, but a 1/3 smaller company, the price looks BIGGER :twocents:

Thanks in advance for your input.

Untangle NG 10.2 does not boot into GUI after install on Intel S3000AH board

Hi!

I am attempting to install Untangle NG Firewall 10.2 (32 bit) on an Intel S3000AH server board which has an onboard ATI ES1000 Video Controller. The complete GUI-based installation went well but when I restarted the computer it does not get into the GUI but gives me a console login prompt and a couple of errors (see attached photo). Looks like the video drivers don't load properly. I also tried to select safe video mode or kern video mode but without success.

Any help is welcome.

Anguel
